Masterminded by Rufus and Martha’s late mother Kate McGarrigle, Christmas 101
began in 2005 and features eclectic carols being performed in French and English by McGarrigles, Wainwrights and many friends – famous and infamous.
On two not-so-silent nights, we will celebrate their legacy with a concert in Royce Hall and a post-show Gala benefiting the Kate McGarrigle Foundation created by Kate before her death in 2009 to raise money for underfunded sarcoma research.
Tickets for the concert are sold separately from the Gala, but can be purchased together in one transaction. If purchasing online, select your seats and then you will see the option to add on Gala tickets. Or just call the box office at 310-825-2101 and they will take care of your order.

With guests like Emmylou Harris, Van Dyke Parks, Carrie Fisher along with food, drink and merriment - a good time is guaranteed for all. And 100% of your Gala
ticket price will go to the Kate McGarrigle Fund.
Kate’s final live performance was the 2009 Christmas show, surrounded by family and friends on stage in a magical, emotional night in London at the Royal Albert Hall. Undaunted by protests that she was too ill, she persevered as only Kate could and brought the family together for one more Christmas concert. Now, Kate’s children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews and her legions of friends carry on the tradition in honor of her legacy, her music, her passion for life and her fight against cancer.
