Five-time Grammy Award winner, Golden Globe and Bafta nominee for his score for the Oscar winning film Birdman, Antonio Sanchez is considered by many critics and musicians alike as one of the most prominent drummers, bandleaders and composers of his generation. Known for his dynamic shifts and subtle colorations, he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz including Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden, Gary Burton and Toots Thielmans. Sanchez has released his fifth recording to date entitled The Meridian Suite. Sanchez and his band, Migration, skillfully blend influences from modern rock, free form improvisation and electronic music into an exhilarating and forward-looking style all their own.
