In the noise that permeates our everyday routine, it is often hard to hear above the din and find moments that resonate. CAP UCLA’s ongoing poetry initiative uncovers the hidden nooks and crannies where language is masterful and words echo long after impact. In the past two seasons, Poetry programs have included open mics, poetry contests, collaborations with writers Mary Ruefle, Carl Hancock Rux and Naomi Shihab Nye, live Poetry Bureaus, and a partnership with the Poems for All mini book project. Check this page for upcoming poetry activities, and visit our Tumblr blog at to share your thoughts, recommend a poet, share a poem, or write one yourself.

We look forward to hearing from you!
