"On his bold new album, Bad Hombre, the Mexican-American drummer channels his fury over Donald Trump’s immigration policy into powerhouse rhythmic improvisations fused with electronica." - JazzTimes

Antonio Sanchez returns to the Royce Hall stage with songs from his newest album. In Spring 2022 Warner Bros. Records will release SHIFT (Bad Hombre Vol 2). The much-anticipated recording features Sánchez collaborating with Trent Reznor, Lila Downs, Meshell Ndegeocello, Dave Matthews and more.

Born in Mexico City, Antonio Sánchez began playing drums at age five and is now a four-time Grammy winner, a conservatory-trained classical pianist, the composer and performer of the score for the Oscar-winning film Birdman and one of the most inventive and heralded drummers on the planet today. Sánchez worked with CAP UCLA alum Pat Metheny on nine albums with whom he also toured for 18 years. He has also performed with Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Michael Brecker and Charlie Haden.

Recent projects include his critically acclaimed The Meridian Suite, his sociopolitical electronica and drums exploration Bad Hombre and Lines in the Sand, in which Sánchez turned his socio-political angst into a moving musical statement of injustice and a tribute to every immigrant’s journey.
