The untold story of an Iranian icon
The Nimoy is reopening for the season with Things Hidden Since the Foundation of the World. This riveting production explores the life of Fereydoun Farrokhzad, an iconic Iranian pop star whose unsolved murder continues to captivate. Created by the Javaad Alipoor Company in collaboration with the National Theatre of Parramatta, this unique work combines theater, documentary, podcast, and live music for a truly immersive experience.
Things Hidden explores Farrokhzad’s life and legacy while offering a profound reflection on how dissidents from the Global South continue to face danger in the West. It also challenges the power and limits of search engines in our post-colonial, information-saturated world.
Before the performance, enjoy interactive stations in The Nimoy’s lobby, where you can listen to music, view archival footage, and explore the cultural and political themes of the show. Then, join us after the show for a live DJ set with Parisa Parnian featuring the golden age of Persian pop from the 1960s and 70s.
