Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble

School Matinee Performance
Grades 6-12

Arturo O’Farrill and The Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble are renowned for musicality that bridges genres and cultures in their signature vibrant, spirited style.

Led by O’Farrill, a Grammy-winning pianist, composer, and educator born in Mexico and raised in New York City, the group’s sound is steeped in Latin jazz traditions, enriched by a spirit of collaboration, and deeply committed to the transformative power of art as a tool for cultural exchange and understanding.

Like all DFS programs, this hour-long student matinee performance is free to any Los Angeles area public school, though we do ask that schools make their own transportation arrangements.  If that means you might not be able to attend, let us know.  We may be able to help.  Our Perloff Memorial Bus Fund provides support for bus transportation.

We often have more demand than we can accommodate; requests are filled on a first-come basis. Contact us at dfs@cap.ucla.edu for more information.
