A loving interrogation of the intergenerational dynamics of Salvadoran American memory and what it means to engage histories of solidarity in the Los Angeles community, that emerges in the works of artist Eddie Rodolfo Aparicio, the scholarship of UCLA Professor Leisy Abrego and the short stories of writer, Rubén Reyes, Jr. What does it mean to transmit these histories of resistance and struggle to the generations that follow?
L.A. Omnibus is a forum for Los Angeles artists, writers, and thinkers to share ideas, pose questions, and uncover our unique communities. Deriving inspiration from the Latin meaning of Omnibus, “for all,” these programs explore how our dynamic city is constantly shifting, settling, and remaking itself. This season, L.A. Omnibus is curated by Raquel Gutierrez.
