Quinteto Astor Piazzolla gathered on stage for group portrait

Quinteto Astor Piazzolla

Latin Grammy-winning quintet and “brilliantly assured” — BBC Music

Latin Grammy Award-winning ensemble Quinteto Astor Piazzolla is the quintessential interpreter of the music of the late, great Argentine composer and tango legend Astor Piazzolla.

A performer with a near unparalleled mastery of the bandoneon, Piazzolla borrowed from jazz and classical music to create an entirely new harmonic and rhythmic vocabulary dubbed "nuevo tango," which transformed the earthy, sensual folk music into a sophisticated form of high art, elevating it from the dance halls onto the concert stage.

Founded by Piazzolla's widow in 1998 to promote and preserve his musical legacy, Quinteto Astor Piazzola’s members are virtuoso musicians whose mission is to share Piazzola’s music with a new generation, bringing fresh interpretations to the maestro’s unique sound.

Join us before the performance of Quinteto Astor Piazzolla for dancing and music under the stars. Instructors Sharna Fabiano and Isaac Oboka will lead a 30-minute tango lesson for total beginners (no experience required), followed by open dancing. Social tango is an improvised, community-oriented dance that connects you with others through music and movement.

Doors open at 6:30 pm, instruction begins at 6:50 pm. Grab a glass of wine, hold your partner close and get ready to tango.
