The Sai Anantam Devotional Ensemble presents an evening of music, readings, and film dedicated to the legacy of musician and spiritual leader, Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda. The ensemble includes students of her former Ashram, with featured performers Sita Michelle Coltrane, Radha Botofasina, Surya Botafasina and Shyam Reyes. This program is presented in connection with the Hammer’s exhibition Alice Coltrane, Monument Eternal, inspired by the life and legacy of jazz musician, devotional leader, and mother Alice Coltrane (b. 1937, Detroit). The Hammer exhibition is part of a larger initiative called The Year of Alice, and in partnership with the John & Alice Coltrane Home. Alice Coltrane, Monument Eternal is organized by Erin Christovale, curator, with Nyah Ginwright, curatorial assistant.
